About the Artist
Springfield, Oregon based illustrator, Kelly Moninger (K.Flagg), has been drawing since childhood. She has always been interested in comic art and animation style art. Her subject matter often includes animals in some sort of science fiction or fantasy setting.
In 2017 she started a series of animals in space. It toys with the idea that if animals could leave Earth and travel space to find a new home away from the dangers that face them on our planet, do you think they would go?
Supplies and Mediums.
Kelly uses a variety of both traditional art mediums as well as digital art. Most of her work is done in traditional Black pen and ink using Copic Markers, Technical Pens, Gel Pens, and applying black ink with a paintbrush on a heavy smooth bristol paper. Occasionally she adds color with watercolors and gouache, or scanning her black line art and adding color digitally in Photoshop.
